Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 1, 2026
The short version.
FocusVan keeps your focus trips and your van so they're there when you come back. We don't ask for your name or email, we don't show ads, we don't track you across other apps or websites, and we never sell your data. You can delete your account and everything in it from inside the app at any time.
This policy explains what the FocusVan app ("FocusVan", "the app", "we") collects, why, who helps us store it, how long it's kept and how you can delete it. FocusVan is made by Talha Nuh Uymaz, an independent developer in Istanbul, Türkiye, who is responsible for your data (the "data controller").
What we collect
An anonymous account
When you first open FocusVan, the app quietly creates an anonymous account with Google Firebase so your trips can be saved. It has a random identifier and nothing that names you. Firebase may also process technical data such as your IP address and device information to keep accounts secure and the service working.
Sign in with Apple (optional)
If you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple gives us a stable identifier for your Apple Account so your trips can come back on a new iPhone. We don't ask Apple for your name or your email address, so we never receive them.
Your trips and your van
- Each focus trip: its length, when it ended, the scene you drove, the focus goal you typed, its tag, and whether it was part of a Pomodoro cycle.
- Your coins, the paints, accessories, scenes and dials you own, the ones you've picked, and your own tags.
- The dates you earned camp badges.
This is private to your account. Your focus goals and trip history are not shown to anyone else.
Shared with other travellers
- Leaderboard: a nickname the app makes up for you (such as "Cozy Robin"), your kilometres this week, your level and your van's color. Everyone using FocusVan can see it.
- Camps (only if you start or join one): the camp's name, its members, and for each member their nickname, focus minutes this week and last week, and how their van looks. Only the members of that camp can see it.
FocusVan Pro purchases
Purchases are made through Apple. We use RevenueCat to check whether your account has Pro. RevenueCat receives your account's identifier and your purchase and subscription details from Apple, such as the product, dates and status. We never see or receive your payment details.
What stays on your iPhone
Your settings, a copy of your trips, and the reminders and notifications you turn on are kept on your device. Notifications are scheduled by your iPhone and don't go through our servers. Live Activities show your trip on your Lock Screen and are created on your device.
What we don't collect
No name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, location or advertising identifier. No analytics or advertising tools. No tracking across other companies' apps or websites.
Why we use it
- To run the app: save your trips, coins and van, and bring them back on a new iPhone or after a reinstall.
- To run the leaderboard and camps you take part in.
- To give you FocusVan Pro when you buy it, and restore it.
- To keep the service secure and working.
We rely on providing the service you asked for (the contract between us) and, where it applies, our legitimate interest in keeping it secure. We don't use your data for advertising or profiling.
Who helps us
| Service | What it does | Their privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore) | Accounts, and storing your trips, profile, leaderboard and camps | firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| RevenueCat | Checking and restoring FocusVan Pro purchases | revenuecat.com/privacy |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple, App Store purchases and subscriptions | apple.com/legal/privacy |
They process data only to provide these services to us, under their own security and privacy commitments. Their servers may be outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union; they protect transfers with safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your trips, profile and leaderboard entry are deleted right away, and you leave any camp you're in (a camp you started is closed). If you never sign in with Apple and delete the app, your anonymous account can't be reached again; we may delete such accounts after a long period without use. Apple and RevenueCat may keep purchase records as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account: in the app, go to Settings › Delete Account. This deletes your account and its data for good.
- Subscriptions: deleting your account doesn't cancel a FocusVan Pro subscription. Manage or cancel it in your iPhone's Settings › your name › Subscriptions, or from Settings › Manage Subscription in the app.
- Notifications: turn them on or off in the app or in your iPhone's Settings.
- Your rights: depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or Türkiye's KVKK), you can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, or object to its use. Email us and we'll answer within 30 days. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
FocusVan isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has used FocusVan, contact us and we'll delete their data.
Security
Your data travels encrypted and is stored by our providers with access limited to your own account, enforced by security rules. No service can promise perfect security, but we keep what we collect to the minimum.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. If the change matters, we'll also tell you in the app.
